UFA, March 3. /TASS/. One person was injured as an oil refinery caught fire in Ufa in Bashkortostan, the Russian republic’s top health official, Airat Rakhmatullin, reported via Telegram.
According to the Emergencies Ministry, the fire started at an incinerator, presumably due to technological processes.

Circumstances behind the incident
— A fire was reported at the Ufa oil refinery in the early hours on Monday.
— The fire near an incinerator may have been caused by a technological process, according to the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
— No concentration of harmful substances in the air was reported after open burning was extinguished.
— Two teams of paramedics were rushed to the scene.
— Experts from a fire lab and Emergencies Ministry investigators are currently working at the scene.
— The Bashneft oil and gas company, which operates the oil refinery, ruled out any risks for the population or the environment from the incident which, it said, did not affect the plant’s production either.
Eye injury
— An oil refinery employee has been taken to an eye emergency clinic where he will receive outpatient treatment, the Bashkir health minister said.
— Bashneft dismissed reports alleging that the employee has been hospitalized as untrue. He returned to his duties after having his eyes washed from industrial dust, the company told TASS.
